Product Update - February2022 | We’re excited to share that we bring you an overhauled version of our online payments. We have completely upgraded the User Experience of our payment intent screen that your dispensary members will love. The payment intent screen is the screen that enables the members to pay your dispensary digitally. We have a much faster, much better, and more customisable UI for the payment intent screen.

What does this mean for the users:

We have release a payments modal to capture the payment intent of a customer that is:

- Completely reliable, PaySwifter modal has an uptime of more than 99.9%.

- Faster than any other product on the market, PaySwifter sees an average time taken to complete a payment to be lesser than 5 seconds for a repeat user and less than 120 seconds for a first time user.

- The most secure, PaySwifter adheres to SOC-II Type 2 certified measures of data protection and security.

All of these factors eventually leading to only one outcome - to enhance the payment experience of the end consumers, hence, helping our merchants maximize sales.

Why should you care? 

“A 1 second delay in page response can result in a 7% reduction in conversions”. 

That means, every additional second your customers take to make the payment, you lose 7 customers out of 100 trying to pay. 

The figure below shows a comparison of the complete checkout flow that a new customer goes through right from the “sign up” stage to the “payment successful” stage.

The total no. of screens (stages) were roughly reduced from 14 to 11 allowing users to spend lesser time in the flow and helping them to complete payments faster.


How did we pull this off?

- Better APIs

We have built the fastest APIs for linking users’ bank accounts and enabling the payments online, bringing down our verification time.

- Frictionless User Experience

We overhauled our user flow completely to provide a better experience to the users. We attempted to decrease the time a user spent before making a payment and reduced the number of screens (stages) before making a payment.

Checkout flow Before - 

  • Separate screens for adding a tip & reviewing the order details and placing it, thereby decreasing the number of steps before placing the order
  • Lot of scope to work on the UI and revamp the visual appearance

Checkout flow After - 

  • Tip screen & place order screen combined to reduce the number of steps in the flow
  • Better visual hierarchy presenting relevant information to the user and a clear CTA

With the new experience live,  a member sees a transparent breakdown of their order summary and gets a frictionless option to show their love to their budtender by adding tips on the order confirmation page.
